UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH PROGRAMMERS

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE GROUP
The Knowledge Based Systems (KBS) Group of the Beckman AI Group is
seeking undergraduate research programmers for research projects in:
- Knowledge-Based Simulation
- Knowlege-Based Expert Systems
- Automated Decision Making
- Human-Computer Interaction
Necessary Qualifications:
- CS 348: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
- Experience with C or C++ (or Lisp or Prolog)
- Here until at least May 1997
Current undergraduates in the KBS group are: Peter Baer, Scott Borton,
Vicki Fairchild, Eugene Grois, Dave Kruse, Marcia Leal, Aaron
Levinson, Eric Lin, Dan Maser, Nitin Wadhwa, and Jim Young.
Our computing environment is centered around Pentium Pro 200MHz PCs
running Windows 95/NT. Other components of our environment include
MS Visual C++, MS Access, MS SQL Server, Macromedia Director 5.0,
Open GL, Lisp, Prolog, Borland Delphi, and various expert system shells.
Compensation is $7.75/hr. Prefer students who can work 12-15 hrs/week.
Course credit is possible in those cases where a focused semester-long
research project is defined. An ability to work full-time next summer
or CS373 is a PLUS.
