Ongoing projects focus on the design, implementation, and evaluation of intelligent systems that: - recommend useful destinations, routes, and information to users in the automobile environment and build models of those users' preferences over the course of interaction; - refine and annotate digital maps using trace data from a high- resolution global positioning system, drawing on techniques from theory revision. We have an opening for a PhD-level researcher with experience in machine learning and/or intelligent assistants to contribute to these efforts. We are looking for someone with broad training in artificial intelligence who is excited about incorporating ideas on advisory systems and machine learning into prototypes that solve real-world problems.
