The Teleinformatics and Operating System Research Group (TIOS) of the
Computer Science Department of the University of Geneva has an opening
for the position of a (project funded by the Swiss National Funds for
Scientific Research)*:
Post-doctoral fellow
(mobile code - agents - communicating messengers)
Starting October 1st, 1996
Application deadline June 30, 1996
The principal task will be to participate in the research activities on
mobile code ("Mobile Software Agents", "Messengers"). This implies the
direction of a research project funded by the Swiss Science Foundation, the
preparation of new research projects and the supervision of PhD students.
The research interests of the TIOS group cover the following areas:
- mobile code;
- distributed application management;
- caching and security in the Web;
- transactional systems.
Our institute (CUI) offers a very attractive research environment, with
up to date software and hardware (fiber to the workplace, Macs, PCs,
workstations SUN, HP, SG, IBM and Alpha).
Requirements: PhD in computer science, with a special emphasis on
distributed systems and/or telematics, good knowledge of foreign
languages (initially the knowledge of French is not mandatory).
