SENIOR COMPUTER SCIENTIST IN INTERACTIVE INTERNET APPLICATIONS GTE Laboratories Incorporated Waltham, Massachusetts, USA We are looking for a senior computer scientist with extensive experience designing and developing interactive Internet applications. This position is with a new project exploring and developing advanced interactive technologies and cutting-edge Internet applications; this project is part of the Advanced Systems Laboratory which includes several Internet-related R&D efforts. The person who fills this position will help generate and evaluate ideas for potential applications and business opportunities, and contribute to the rapid development of functional prototypes. Skill Requirements: Candidates must have a thorough understanding of the Internet including knowledge and use of Internet standards and protocols, experience developing network-based distributed, interactive systems, and sufficient insight and scope to be able to identify key emerging technologies. Superior programming skills and the ability to quickly acquire and make use of new programing techniques and languages are essential. Excellent communication skills are expected. Educational Requirement: Ph.D. in computer science. Experience Requirement: 10+ years work experience in this field. This position is with a new project exploring and developing Internet-based electronic commerce business opportunities, technologies, and advanced applications; this project is part of the Advanced Systems Laboratory which includes several Internet-related R&D efforts. The person who fills this position will be involved with all aspects of the project. Skill Requirements: Candidates must have a thorough understanding of the Internet and electronic commerce. Included are knowledge and use of Internet standards and protocols, experience developing network-based distributed, interactive systems, key electronic commerce technologies (such as databases, search, negotiation, EDI and integration with intelligent agents) and sufficient insight and scope to be able to identify key emerging technologies.
