Subject: Job Opportunity: EU KIMSAC Project
Date: Wed, 18 Dec 1996 12:00:39 -0000
There is an opportunity for a research assistant to work on the KIMSAC
project. This project is funded by the European Unions's ACTS
programme that deals with Advanced Telecommunication Technologies. It
has several university and industrial partners in UK, Ireland, France,
Italy and Sweden. The project deals with the use of multimedia
telecommunications technologies for providing advice and help to
claimants of Social Security, using publically accessible information
kiosks.
KIMSAC is conceived as a 3 year project, and has just completed its
first 18-month phase. A pilot system, that makes use of agent
technology, has been designed and implemented, and is now going for
trial and evaluation. A successful applicant would be involved in the
continued development, enhancement, integration and evaluation of the
underlying multi-agent system and Personal Service Agent metaphor.
A successful candidate would have a good knowledge of AI principles
and engineering, would have a sound programming abilities and good
communicative skills, and would be an enthusiastic contributor to a
joint endeavour, with the ability to work as part of team as well as
the ability to work independently.
