The DAI-Lab of the Department of Computer Science (Systems Analysis
and EDP) of the Technical University of Berlin is offering three
positions in its research work, payment according to the german BAT
IIa.
The DAI-Lab is one of the Sun Technology Research Excellence Centers
(SunTREC). Its research priority is the development of Java-based
agents for applications in telecommunication and for telematic
services.
Within this coorperation, the DAI-Lab is working on possibilities to
extend the language Java by class libraries and certain tools. By
these means agent-oriented software development in Java is made
possible. In part, this cooperation takes place on the spot at SUN in
Mountain View, California, USA.
Altogether the activities at the DAI-Lab aim at the application of
agent-oriented techniques in telecommunication and in the domain
manufacturing /production. This work is done within several projects
in cooperation with e. g. Sun Microsystems, Deutsche Telekom,
DeTeBerkom, Siemens and Mercedes-Benz.
The ideal candidates for the advertised posts have sound knowledge of:
- Agent-oriented techniques
- Either telecommunication or manufacture/production
- The platforms Sun/Unix and PC/Windows95
as well as experience in programming (mainly in Java) and team work.
We are looking for candidates with a university degree in computer
science. The positions include the possibility of conferring a
doctorate.
