SWARM INTELLIGENCE
The Faculty of Engineering at the University of the West of England,
Bristol, wishes to appoint a Research Associate for an exciting new
project on swarm-based telecommunications routing. The project, based
in the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Lab at UWE, is funded by Hewlett
Packard Laboratories under their External Research Programme. The work
will cover the principled design and evaluation of a swarm system
managing a simulation of a telecommunications network subject to
growth and change.
For this post-doctoral appointment, you may have a background in any
technical or scientific discipline. Excellent programming skills are
necessary; experience in telecommunications, multiagent systems, or
artificial life will be particularly relevant.
The post is available for a fixed term of two years, with the possible
extension of 1 year. Starting salary will be up to 14,500. We would
particularly welcome applications from women, black people and members
of other minority ethnic groups and disabled people as these groups
are under-represented at this level in the University. Applications
will be considered on merit.
